GuildLayers

GuildLayers is a lightweight and user-friendly addon for World of Warcraft Classic that lets you switch layers quickly and reliably using your guild. No more sitting in layer-finding channels or guessing who is on which layer – everything happens automatically via guild addon communication.
The more people in your guild, who install and use this addon, the faster and more effective the layer switching becomes, significantly increasing your chances of getting onto the desired layer with minimal effort.

🔥 Key Features:

• Automatic layer detection via integration with NovaWorldBuffs (NWB). If NWB is installed, the addon always knows your current layer.

• Request layer swap with a single command – the addon finds a guild member on the target layer and sends them a request.

• Automatic invite acceptance – when a suitable player invites you, the addon accepts the invite and switches you to the new layer (provided you're not already in a group or raid).

• Fallback channel – if no guild helpers are available, the addon posts a request in the public layer channel so other players can invite you.

• Interactive display – a small button on screen shows your current layer. Left-click to open a list of available layers with helper counts, right-click to request a random layer. The button can be dragged anywhere on screen.

• Flexible slash commands:

• • /glayer – request a swap to any available layer.

  • /glayer <number> – request a specific layer (e.g., /glayer 3).

  • /glayer status – show current layer and number of cached guild layer entries.

       /glayer lang en/ru – change the interface language (English or Russian).

       /guildlayers debug - enable/disable debug messages.    

• Localization – full support for English and Russian. The language is auto-detected from your client but can be changed manually.
• Persistent settings – button position, chosen language, and other preferences are saved between sessions.

• No external tools needed – works entirely within WoW using standard addon communication.

• Guild‑based invites – you receive invites from guildmates who are actually on the target layer.

• Minimal performance impact – lightweight and doesn't clutter your screen.

• Intuitive interface – just one button with a context menu.

⚠️ Requirements:

• NovaWorldBuffs (NWB) – required for accurate layer detection. Without NWB, the addon cannot determine your current layer and layer swapping will not work. Please install the latest version of NWB.

• To search for a backup layer, you need to be a member of the /Join Layer channel. (Sometimes griefers set a password on it; you need to try connecting to the channel again after a while).

• You must be in a guild for the main functionality (status broadcasting and requests). Without a guild, only the fallback channel is available.

*In major capital cities, there may be layer detection issues with the NovaWorldBuff addon.

🌍 Localization:

• Russian (ruRU) – full translation of interface and messages.

• English (enUS) – default language for all other clients.

• On first run, the language is auto-detected; you can change it anytime with 
/glayer lang ru 
/glayer lang en.

📦 Installation:

1. Download the addon and extract it to World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\.

2. Make sure NovaWorldBuffs is installed and enabled.

3. Log in, join your guild, and wait a few seconds for the addon to gather layer data from guild members.

Use /glayer or click the on‑screen button to request a layer swap.
