GatherSlave

GatherSlave is a compact gathering assistant for World of Warcraft. It helps you check gathering readiness, track farming sessions, count looted materials, estimate value, and review saved session history from a small docked UI.

The addon is built around a simple goal: make gathering easier to manage while still giving you useful information for improving your farming sessions over time.

Getting Started

Use /gs to print the available slash commands, or click the minimap button to show or hide the main window.

Use compact view while farming, and switch to detailed view when you want to inspect tools, buffs, bag stock, or session information. The mode button changes between compact and detailed view icons depending on the current state.

The bottom buttons open either:

• Session Details: current session materials, totals, timer, gold per hour, and nodes per hour
• History: saved farming sessions with expandable item breakdowns and export text
• Profession Knowledge: configured gathering knowledge tasks, completion state, and waypoint buttons where available
• Options: scale, expansion, price source, waypoint mode, loot toast behavior, and tracked item IDs

When the main window is hidden, the Options, Session Details, History, and Profession Knowledge windows are hidden with it.

Session Tracking

Session logging uses Record, Pause, and Stop controls:

• Record starts session logging.
• Pause pauses the timer and loot tracking without clearing the current session.
• Stop ends the current session, saves it to history, and clears the current totals.

Stop is only available while actively recording. A new session does not start automatically after stopping; press Record when you want to begin tracking again.

Price Sources

GatherSlave can estimate values using:

• Auctionator
• TradeSkillMaster
• None

Auctionator and TradeSkillMaster are optional dependencies. Value estimates depend on the selected pricing addon being installed, loaded, and having usable market data available.

Profession Knowledge

The Profession Knowledge window shows configured knowledge point tasks for learned gathering professions. It can track trainer weeklies, weekly profession drops, one-time treasures, catch-up currencies, and other configured quest-based tasks.

Some tasks include location buttons. Waypoint mode can be set to Blizzard waypoints, TomTom, or both. TomTom is optional; if it is not installed, GatherSlave falls back to Blizzard waypoints.

Tracked Items

GatherSlave includes default tracked item IDs for common gathering materials and lets you add or remove your own tracked IDs.

/gs reset position -> Resets the addon window position (resetpos also works)
/gs debug on/off -> Toggles debug logging
/gs buffs -> Prints tracked buff debug information
/gs toasttest -> Shows a test loot value toast
/gs stockvalue -> Prints tracked bag stock value
/gs knowledge [expansion] [profession] -> Prints configured profession knowledge completion
/gs knowledge debug [expansion] [profession] -> Prints raw quest API state
/gs kp, /gs tasks, /gs quests -> Aliases for /gs knowledge
/gs history -> Prints the farming history list
/gs history last -> Displays the last farming session's details
/gs history clear -> Clears the history entirely

/gs track add <itemID> <category> -> Adds an ID to track while farming
/gs track remove <itemID> -> Removes a tracked ID
/gs track defaults -> Restores built-in tracked IDs

GatherSlave's pixel-perfect border handling was informed by studying how EllesmereUI approaches WoW UI scale and texture snapping issues. No EllesmereUI code is included.
