HoxCore

The minimap launcher for the Hox addon suite.

HoxCore puts a single button on your minimap, a runed stone "H" that opens an animated drawer of buttons, one for each Hox addon you have installed. Left-click a drawer entry to open that addon. Right-click the H to configure HoxCore itself. That's the whole interaction model: one button, every tool.

What It Does

HoxCore solves a simple problem: as the Hox suite grows, you shouldn't need to remember five different slash commands or hunt for five different minimap buttons. Instead, each Hox addon registers itself with HoxCore at login, and the drawer builds itself automatically. Install a new Hox addon, and it appears in the drawer on your next reload. No configuration, no manual setup.

The drawer fans out from the minimap button with a staggered slide-and-fade animation, direction-aware so it opens away from the minimap by default. It auto-closes after your mouse leaves it, or when you click an entry, or when you click the H again. Addons that have their own minimap buttons, like Chronicle of Heroes and Burning Rush Tracker, get adopted into the drawer: their real button, with its real icon and real click behavior, moves into the fan. No duplicates on the minimap, no duplication of functionality.

HoxCore also defends its minimap position against button-collector addons like MBB (Minimap Button Bag). The H stays on the minimap where you put it, and adopted buttons are shielded from collection as well.

The Hox Suite

HoxCore is the hub for a growing family of addons built by Hox Utilities:

Hox FlightTools: cockpit-style flight instruments for Skyriding. Airspeed, heading, vertical speed, speed history graph, flight resource tracking (Surge Forward, Skyward Ascent, Second Wind, Static Charge, Lightning Rush alerts), flight debriefs with distance and speed records, and a minimal interface mode. Full and compact HUDs that appear automatically when you fly.

Burning Rush Tracker: tracking and management tools for the Warlock ability Burning Rush.

Hox DevTools: development and debugging utilities for addon authors.

Chronicle of Heroes: a warband roster and gear audit tool. Inspect gear, enchants, sockets, and upgrade tracks across every character in your warband from a single window, without logging into each one. [UNDER DEVELOPMENT]

Love Lust Leave: a social and relationship-themed mini-game addon. [UNDER DEVELOPMENT]

Each addon works perfectly standalone, HoxCore is never a dependency. When it's installed, the suite simply becomes more convenient to navigate.

Configuration

Right-click the minimap button or type /hoxcore config to open the options panel. Every setting applies immediately, and an "Open Drawer" checkbox holds the drawer open so you can preview changes as you make them.

Button: Adjust the button size and its position on the minimap rim. The button is also draggable directly.

Drawer Direction: Three modes, away from the minimap (default), toward the minimap center (useful if the button sits in a corner), or a custom angle in any direction you choose.

Drawer Layout: Control the size of drawer buttons, spacing between them, and the gap from the main button to the first entry.

Animation: Tune the open slide time, stagger delay between buttons, close fade duration, and the auto-close timer. Crank the stagger up for a luxurious cascade, or zero everything out for an instant snap.

Planned Features

HoxCore is actively developed. Some things on the roadmap:

• Drawer ordering: drag-to-reorder entries or set explicit priorities so your most-used addons are always closest to the button.
• Favorites / quick-access: pin one addon as the default left-click action on the H itself, with the drawer available on a modifier key or alternate click.
• Suite-wide profiles: save and restore settings across all Hox addons as a single profile, useful when switching between characters with different UI preferences.
• Addon health dashboard: a small panel showing which Hox addons are installed, enabled, up to date, and reporting any issues.
• Custom drawer icons: let each addon ship its own styled icon (some already do) with support for themed icon packs.

Compatibility

• Minimap Button Bag (MBB) and similar collectors: HoxCore's button is structurally invisible to collector scans and cooperatively registers in MBB's opt-out lists. Adopted addon buttons receive the same protection. If you use MinimapButtonButton specifically, a one-time /mbb ignore HoxCoreMinimapButton completes the exclusion.
• Square minimap addons: the rim-positioning math assumes a circular minimap. On square minimaps, the button may float slightly off the corner, functional but cosmetically imperfect. A future update will detect minimap shape and adjust.
• ElvUI / other UI replacements: HoxCore parents to MinimapCluster and anchors to the Minimap frame. Most UI replacements preserve these, but if the minimap is heavily restructured, the button may need repositioning via the config panel.

Installation

Drop the HoxCore folder into Interface/AddOns/. The custom minimap icon (HoxCoreIcon.tga) must stay inside the folder. If the addon is flagged as out of date after a patch, update the ## Interface: number in HoxCore.toc — you can find the current value in-game with /dump select(4, GetBuildInfo()), or simply check "Load out of date AddOns."
