After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to stop actively updating HKD Toasts.
What started as a small personal project quickly became something much bigger than I ever expected. I originally built the addon just for myself because I loved the idea of having clean, modern toast notifications for important information in WoW and every new feature I added genuinely made me excited to keep pushing it further.
Over time, though, the scope kept growing. I started expanding beyond toasts into things like the Toast Hub, Loot Feed, custom panels, sidebar systems, and many other ideas that I wanted to deliver properly. The problem is that I care a little too much about making things feel “right”, both visually and functionally, and trying to handle design, programming, testing, iteration, bug fixing, and Blizzard API limitations alone eventually became overwhelming.
I still love the project, and honestly, seeing people enjoy the addon meant a lot to me. Every kind comment, message, and bit of feedback genuinely made me happy, so thank you for that. Really.
For now, I’ll continue iterating on HKD Toasts privately in my own time for myself and friends, but without the pressure of maintaining public releases and constant updates.
