LootInsight

LootInsight is a lightweight World of Warcraft Retail addon that helps you understand what enemies actually drop while you play — and what rare rewards might still be waiting for you.

It combines real observed loot tracking with a built-in database for rare pets and mounts, giving you useful information without overwhelming you with unnecessary data.

Observed Loot – Based on Your Gameplay

LootInsight focuses on loot you have actually seen drop.

As you defeat enemies and collect loot, the addon builds your own personal loot history and uses that data to calculate drop statistics.

This means no guessed numbers and no inflated drop rates — just information based on what you have experienced in-game.

Built-in Pet & Mount Database

LootInsight includes a curated database of rare pets and mounts.

• See possible pet and mount drops even before you have observed them

• Once you personally obtain a drop, it becomes part of your observed loot data

• Observed data always takes priority over database information

This allows you to plan your farming while still keeping loot statistics honest and experience-based.

World Map Spawn Display

LootInsight can display known spawn locations directly on the world map.

Spawn markers automatically scale with map zoom, allowing you to easily locate farming targets whether you are zoomed in or viewing an entire zone.

Instances & Delves Support

Modern WoW treats Delves similarly to Instances, and LootInsight reflects this.

Both are grouped together in the browser under:

Optional Extensions

LootInsight can be extended with optional addons such as LootRun or LootMarket, which integrate directly into the LootInsight interface while keeping the core addon lightweight.

External Database Sharing Tool (Optional)

LootInsight includes an optional external helper file:

LootInsight_db_tool.py

This file is not executed by World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft addons cannot run Python code.

The tool is completely optional and can be safely deleted.

Purpose of the tool

• Export observed loot data to JSON

• Share loot databases with friends or guild members

• Import shared data back into the addon

The tool does not run automatically, does not access the network, and performs no background activity.
