DragonBinds (Updated for WoW Midnight)

DragonBinds seamlessly transforms your standard movement keys into flight controls (Pitch/Turn) the moment your mount leaves the ground, allowing you to emulate traditional flight simulator controls and freeing up your mouse for camera control.

What's New in v1.5? (The "Midnight" Update)

The addon has been entirely rebuilt from the ground up for WoW 12.0 (Midnight).

• Fully Automatic: You no longer need to bind a key to toggle "Dragon Mode." The addon now detects when you actually take off and instantly hijacks your keys for flight. As soon as your feet touch the ground, your normal binds are restored.
• Ground Movement Preserved: Want to strafe or backpedal while mounted on the ground? You can. DragonBinds only activates when you are actively flying.
• Universal Layout Support: Whether you use WASD, ESDF, IJKL, or the Arrow Keys, the addon dynamically reads your current movement binds and adapts automatically.

Custom PvP Override

For players who use custom keybinds for their backward movement (like "S" or "D" for a PvP spell), DragonBinds allows you to sacrifice that specific key only while flying to act as your "Pitch Up" (pull up) key.

• Type /db bind [KEY] in chat to set it (e.g., /db bind S).

Chat Commands

While fully automatic, you can still control the addon manually:

• /db auto - Toggles the automatic flight detection ON or OFF.
• /db bind [KEY] - Sets your custom backward/pitch-up key.
• /db - Manually forces the flight overrides ON or OFF.

Pro-Tip for the Best Experience

This add-on feels incredible with a higher pitch sensitivity. I highly recommend changing your pitch sensitivity to 5 (or higher) using this in-game command:

/console dragonRidingPitchSensitivity 5 (Values range from 1 to 10)

Known Issues & Feedback

• None at the moment! All previous manual-toggle issues have been fixed. Enjoy the skies, and don't hesitate to give feedback in the comments. I finally have a pocket dev (thanks Google!) to help me push this addon to the next level.

• Refactor core architecture to a high-performance, event-driven model that eliminates global namespace pollution and drops idle CPU usage to zero by dynamically toggling background polling (Dev stuff)
